Mothers Day Surprise!

Yes, I know, this is a Satellite dish but how does this mesh with the title of this post? Well, here is the story behind it.

A few years ago they came out to change our satellite dish to a new model and did not remove it from our property. As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. A birdbath that I would mosaic and place out front.

Hubby got as far as attaching it to a pvc pipe but I could never figure out exactly where I wanted it so it laid around for a couple of years. 

Since we are very frugal with our money and had some unexpected expenses this year, one right after the other, I told hubby to be sure and not spend any money on Mothers Day this year. "It's time to put the birdbath up." I said.

So, here is where it stands in the corner of our fenced in area of the front of our little yard where the furbabies are allowed to run and play and do their business every day.  I will now get out all my mosaic tesserae that I keep in boxes and begin the project in earnest.
